Energy Engineering Experience
EXP-eng-energy
Synergy
provides building system audits and energy analysis for clients looking
to improve and/or track the energy consumption / efficiency of the HVAC
and Lighting Systems in existing buildings. The audits
include a detail assessment of the HVAC and Light Systems, with a
specific focus on energy performance. The Energy Analysis
includes energy modeling and/or equipment energy monitoring to
determine where energy savings can be attained. As part of
the Energy Analysis, we will compare the energy consumption to industry
standard benchmarks for the type of facility and climate. For
LEED NC projects we compare the "proposed design" to the "baseline"
model, as outlined in Appendix G of ASHRAE 90.1-2004, which is required
for LEED Certification.
In addition we can provide an Energy Analysis / Energy Model that can
be used as a baseline to forecast energy costs. Furthermore,
for LEED Projects, this can also be sued as a step toward achieving a
point for their Verification and Measurement Credit.

Michigan State University
- Case Hall -
Establish baseline standards for energy efficiency.
- Conrad Hall -
Extensive audit of existing systems including thermal imaging and
analysis.
- Food Science Building
- 5 years after a major renovation of building systems, Synergy
analyzed existing systems and improved operational efficiency by 20%.

Gaylord Public Schools
Extensive analysis of
the districts building systems primarily in the High School.
Building control systems have been an issue with at the High
School since it was constructed. Synergy identified the
issues and proposed solutions. |

5 State Natural Gas Pipeline originating out of
Western Wyoming and terminating in Northern California.
Services include Commissioning of equipment control center;
operation monitoring and performance verification of Solar PV System. |

Spectrum Health Thermal Imaging
Cooling set points
could not be obtained in one area of the building. Thermal
scanning indicated lower level heating systems were generating heat in
a concentrated area directly impacting the space in the level above. |

Benzie County Medical Care
Facility
Synergy is providing
MEP Engineering services for the renovation and expansion for this new
Skilled Nursing Facility. The county representatives were
interested in pursuing Energy Efficiency Rebates for high efficiency
designs offered through their utility company. Synergy
provided complete energy modeling and calculations required by the
utility company to determine whether the facility design met baseline
requirements. |

I have found you and your staff to be
very knowledgeable in regards to health care mechanical and electrical
design. It is good to know that I can approach health care
clients with confidence that you have provided a complete design of the
appropriate systems for their facility.

The quality of the [feasibility study
provided by Synergy] led the district to immediately retain Synergy to
design a new boiler plant and serve as construction manager... After
one year of working with Synergy, I can say without hesitation that our
assessment of their company was accurate. From the budget development
stage to the punch lists, Synergy offers their experience as "your
representation."

We were impressed with the end product
deliverable, a commissioning report that includes detailed results of
the functional tests, which will be very useful to the Owner and our
design team in resolving the many deficiencies discovered by Synergy
throughout the Commissioning process.
